National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes strong police-community and emergency service partnership. These service providers include: first responders, fire department, and EMS. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and our local city government officials such as the mayor, city council, and local utility providers. Center Point Energy has been a major sponsor of our event from our first NNO. The NNO is held at our CWL Park, which is centrally located in the neighborhood. The event is held on the first Tuesday in the month of October. For more information on National Night Out, please go to https://natw.org.
The West End Neighborhood Association holds and Annual Rummage Sale to support projects of the neighborhood and Microsociety Magnet School. All neighbors are asked to contribute in some way: cleaning out closets, attics, and basements for donations, volunteering, or by making a purchase. The Rummage Sale is held at the Microsociety Magnet School gymnasium in the fall.
